SAMED KAHREMAN
“COUNTERTENOR”
Samed KAHREMAN, born in 1992, began his music education at the age of 14 in 2006, playing the trumpet. Recognized as a promising student in his first year of high school, he received awards from the school administration. He underwent four years of intensive music education and held several leadership roles among his peers. After graduating from preparatory school in 2010 with a second-place ranking, he was nominated for the conservatory exam and awarded various prizes. In 2010, Samed KAHREMAN was admitted to the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Band Conducting Department. There, he studied piano with Assistant Professor Vuslat KOYUNCU, harmony with Argun DEFNE, counterpoint, composition, and music analysis with Professor Hatıra AHMEDLI CAFER and Professor Onur ÖZMEN, choir conducting with Çiğdem AYTEPE, score reading with Professor Metin MUNZUR, orchestration with Nejat BAŞEĞMEZLER, and band conducting with Doğan ÇAKAR. He continued his conducting studies under Professor Burak TÜZÜN, director of orchestral studies at Hacettepe University. During his conservatory years, he performed as a chorister in the Muammer Sun Choir, Ertuğrul Oğuz Fırat Choir, and Saygun Philharmonic Choir, participating in numerous concerts between 2010 and 2015. He also had opportunities to conduct bands for the Military Band Vocational School of Higher Education alongside his classmates. He completed his conservatory education in June 2014, ranking third. Later, he was appointed as an intern lecturer at the Turkish Armed Forces Military Band Schools by the Army Headquarters.In July 2014, he applied for an exam in the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Performance Art Department, Opera Singing Division, and was admitted. In this division, he began studying as a countertenor under the guidance of International Expert Maia Mari CHIKHRADZE. In 2017 and 2018, he competed in the 10th and 11th National Young Soloist Competitions, earning third place in the University Category and receiving the Stage Review Special Award in both competitions. In 2019, he performed the role of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Concert Hall and graduated with distinction. In August 2019, he participated as a soloist in the Spasskaya Tower International Music Festival on Red Square, Moscow, Russia. In September 2020, he was accepted into the Master’s Program in the Opera Department of Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory. He completed his thesis titled “Examination of the Countertenor Voice from Sociological and Technical Perspectives in the Historical Process” in July 2023 under the supervision of Professor Linet ŞAUL. In November 2022, he performed as a soloist at the Zehra Yıldız Memorial Night organized by the Zehra Yıldız Culture and Arts Foundation. In 2023 and 2024, he performed alto solos in A. Vivaldi’s Gloria, J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, and F. Handel’s Dixit Dominus as a soloist with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra at the Baroque Music Concerts I, II, and III. He has given many individual concerts and continues to perform actively.
